Hello, and welcome to my website!
I'm using it to promote a project I'm taking part in in January 2006.
I'm a member of Derby Rotaract, and it's the Rotaract Overseas Project 2006.
I'll be going with a team of fellow Rotaractors to Benin in West Africa to build a module of three classrooms for the public primary school of Agla, Cotonou. The primary school has suffered from recent flooding, and children are currently receiving lessons in poor conditions.
The project cost is £19,500 to help build the primary school, and I am aiming to raise £3,000 to put towards this. To help raise this I'll be swimming the channel! Not all at once though... over the course of a month at my local pool!
This website will tell you all about the project and will also give YOU an opportunity to:
- Sponsor me! The most important part! I need all the help I can get and you can sponsor me via the link on the left
- Give me support and encouragement in my challenge by signing the guestbook
- Read all about the project
- Read my Progress Weblog where I will be posting updates of how I am getting on with my channel swim
- Read all about how the project went once its done and dusted, and browse a photo gallery
Any support you can give to this worthy cause will be much appreciated.
Thanks, and all the best,
Mark
